I tried it a week ago, and the silk started with pink and it became a golden brown colour, very beautiful. I didn't know about the different effect of water. Thanks, for that's probably the reason why it turned into this colour.
Sandra (from the Netherlands)Sandrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16145845581278458187noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3528563144963903992.post-33454784794952131852010-01-19T22:00:29.381-05:002010-01-19T22:00:29.381-05:00thanks soo much for the info : ) I do have rita bu...thanks soo much for the info : ) I do have rita buchanan's book on a dyer's garden, loved it the first time I read it but now I'll be reading it from a re-freshed perspective in dyeing. thanks again for your reply : )
Blessings, Sandra in AZAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3528563144963903992.post-11569840135532226612010-01-19T17:37:10.736-05:002010-01-19T17:37:10.736-05:00sandra, the ochre is from the minerals in the wate...sandra, the ochre is from the minerals in the water...who knows what will happen when i rinse this cloth out. rita buchanan's a weaver's garden and a dyer's garden are good primers for natural dying. read them, you don't have to be a gardener to use the wonderful info.Velma Bolyardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12446502295849533888noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3528563144963903992.post-79468425890810835732010-01-19T16:53:53.368-05:002010-01-19T16:53:53.368-05:00love your description of your color from the poms....love your description of your color from the poms. my experient with poms turned out pink, I would soo much love to get ochre color. have tried a ritz dye recipe found in an art quilt mag. but didn't turn out at all. do you have any natural dye material(s) suggestions ?? hope you feel better and better soon - yoga helps lots : )
Blessings, Sandra in AZAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3528563144963903992.post-79591678697641825202010-01-19T16:03:07.217-05:002010-01-19T16:03:07.217-05:00thanks, judy. i appreciate so much hearing those w...thanks, judy. i appreciate so much hearing those words today!
