it's almost the end of the school year (a week and a half to go)
and i'm experimenting
this little bit of kozo traveled my table
and landed on this announcement from frank
and became briefly a moon
i have saved many
like this laying mama snapper
and many, many painteds
but not all
by any means.
this morning's snapper
did NOT appreciate my shovel
helping her across the busy highway.
but she made it.
at the new place the little drainage
nameless
with reflections
and despite all odds
up through the gravel roadbed
this fellow emerged
happily
and happy even when
i photograph the thing upsidedown.
~~~
i told you i'm scattered
next weekend i will be on my way to colorado
i love the glimpse of your worlds through your eyes (and hands and words).
ReplyDeleteaimee, this world is so harsh, but so beautiful
ReplyDeleteI saw a painted turtle the other day, just about to lay her eggs... close to a pond and far from a road, happy to say!
ReplyDeleteSafe travels!
Oh My! mushrooms! (don't you just marvel at the resilience of nature... ahhhhh if only tortoisey creatures could bounce back from the roadside eh..... _
ReplyDeletevalerie, YAY!
ReplyDeleteronnie, this one was big and strong! the turtles are only going where their ancestors did, the trouble is there's a highway...one road is practically a turtle crossing
Hi V - scattered it not bad when there are many things to experience. Love the emerging shots. Go well in Colorado - enjoy. B
ReplyDeletewonderful reflections -all - I wonder if that mushroom holds any dye? safe journey.
ReplyDeletethanks, barry
ReplyDeletejean, i wondered, too, but i didn't have the heart to take it-
Oh those turtles...
ReplyDeleteThe one is so hard to look at.
Enjoy your journey to Colorado. I hope you will not be near the fires. I though of you today when I passed a Eucalyptus tree today shedding large lengths of bark and my first thought was: What would Velma do with this treasure? To bad we do not live closer to each other!
Bye for now.
Travel safe V and may you find scattered wonders along the way!
ReplyDeletetravel safe and most of all have fun.
ReplyDeletenancy, that eucalyptus, well, perhaps we'd be making all kinds of new stuff-or just chatting over tea...
ReplyDeletethanks, fiona, i'm excited about my first residency!
neki, will certainly try, no, will do it.
:-)
ReplyDeletejude, grinning
ReplyDeleteRayHoo for Colorado! And for the determined mushroom, and for you, for all you show us and for your teaching...
