this winter people are dealing with really harsh weather.
here i am in my warm farmhouse.
post holiday
night is beginning to fall
a little bit later
and the iced snow reflects light.
inside, where i pretty much stay
except for quick walks,
i've been busy
prepping for the classes in oz,
mapping the nyfa grant proposals,
printing papers for a book.
and i find myself
wishing the cold wasn't so cold,
the days not so short,
the sky not so gray.
this is why people stray south
in the cold time.
coyotes
little critter
photos from two days ago
today there's more snow.
and the sky is bright with minus 10 COLD and BRIGHT!
weaving pages
~~~
I just love your woven pages, and such straight edges, thats a neat little loom you have there, did you make it?
ReplyDeleteIs that shifu yarn, I must learn to make that.
Feels like hot-rum toddy to me. Ah, for a fireside, and a good audio book.
ReplyDeletedebbie, it's one of the stump looms-LOW tech! trying to weaver four selvedges. spun lokta.
ReplyDeletems, hot chocolate, maybe?
happy you are not out on the roads. looks like Spring is a long time coming. LOVE the shifu. warm hugs.
ReplyDeleteI am glad that your farm house is warm and that you are so busy with art and with art business.
ReplyDeleteIt's really cold here as well.
I've been sick and have not been outside other than to feed our birds for a week.
Stay inside dear friend.
Good to be warm when outside the snow is creaking!
ReplyDeletejean, thanks. spring is certainlynot on my radar. yet.
ReplyDeletejudy, please get better soon. the stitches are singing.
valerie, yes, getting the mail was cold, but it's up to zero now.
Be warm, Velma...and blessed!
ReplyDeletemargaret, working on it!
ReplyDeletewe are expecting 41 degrees here today - would love to be tipping my toes in your snow! Only briefly though …. enjoying our summer. Wishing you all good and joyful things this year Velma.
ReplyDeletesusan, i'm thinking 41 would be a relief, but not your 41! keep cool!
ReplyDeleteThe weaving is exquisite.
ReplyDeleteWe have had rain and flooding in the south of England.
Your frozen world looks harsh, stay warm and well.
cathy, how kind you are! it's above zero this morning! YAY. 14 degrees (f) feels WARM!
ReplyDeleteThe weaving is wonderful. I'd love to feel it...is it stiff or soft? Glad you've stayed safe and warm. That first pic...where land and sky are one! Amazing. Take care.
ReplyDeletenancy, it's paper, spun and not at all worked, so it's quite stiff, and yet…
