in maine for a wee while
before going to longridge
to meet and work with sandra brownlee
but first a visit with
hannah
but first a visit with
hannah
my nephew rich
his species list for the day
was longer than mine,
but he taught me new birds:
gannet, puffin, and others i've heard of
gannet, puffin, and others i've heard of
but never seen.
and he said this was not a big cruise ship!
leaving the harbor
i admit i couldn't focus
on photos
i was way to thrilled
on photos
i was way to thrilled
puffins swimming amongst their friends
petite manan island
petite manan island
endlessness and
well
big swells.
our five had two a little sick
one really sick,
so they retreated to the rear.
so they retreated to the rear.
i was in the bow
thrilled and flying
it was like riding and jumping
sorta
and then i heard the breath
of the big fin whale
impossible to photograph in my excitement
and after four hours on the ocean,
out of bar harbor
we had a BIG lunch
"don't," she said
but i did.
OH. i feel like i can breathe again looking at all that water! THANK YOU for even sharing that. i would have not wanted to worry about a camera at all while on the boat! xo
ReplyDeletepuffins & a whale!
ReplyDeletemo, many of both (ok, more puffins, but still...)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a marvelous trip! My favorite photos are the ones of just water - great abstract patterns!

ReplyDeleteHannah should know not to make faces when Mom is holding a camera, hope she is still speaking to you. Thanks for the reminder not to take the waters for granted

ReplyDeleteHi V - obviously Fiona and I are both attending to catching up on comments - but that can't be bad!!! Loved your fascination with the patterns in the water - the details can be the best bits. Go well. B
ReplyDeletefiona, the ocean was good to me. your and barry's names have already come up...
ReplyDeletebarry, god is in the details, right?
Enjoy it up here, I live on the coast and it's finally cooled down a little. Much less humidity. <3 I love your pics!
