before solstice gifts

friendly birds brought
a gift to my ditch
wild columbine

over at the new place:
a door
cedar on the outside
yellow birch on the interior
hand carved handles
the stairs,
also yellow birch,
are in
and back at home
i gathered a basket
of yard gifts
lupine, lilac, buttercup, hawkweed, rosa rugosa, iris, fern
hortus siccus
to make several long sheets
the top of the pot looked like this
nothing is wasted
gabby made herself a journal
(see how she played with the corner treatments)
for her work this summer
studying with the amazing
don glaiser and suzanne moore.

  7. nice touches at the new house.
ask the builder for any leftover tyvek.not being natural it may make you cringe, but you should give it a try.lots of possibilities.

  8. neki, eric draped tyvek over the whole thing and cut strips where the windows were...they made wonderful patterns of light and wind...it was so the tyvek wouldn't tear loose in the wind...and i find the stuff very interesting. haven't used it except for coloring it with inks once.

  9. Hey Velma,
Sorry we didn't make it over Thursday. Bronson tried to fit too many things into one day. Late returning from Lake Placid.
I'll tell her to look at your blog to see the new house. She will love it! We'll get over to see the new digs next trip, for sure! :)
