snow not blizzard

it really looks lovely out there
but it's pretty cold
glittery snow
it's above my knees and then some
friend porcupine had a midnight feast
 rascal pathway
goes to the barn and beyond
wendy just can't sort out the whites
planes and levels and how to navigate through it all
 some snow
even my path doesn't really open up much
when you weigh only 37 pounds.
most of the windows have some snow buildup
some more than others

  8. Wonderful shots of the snow and Wendy.
My husband and I shoveled part of our driveway a little while ago. Now, I'm not the tallest person you'll ever meet (I"m an imposing 5 ft tall), but when I stepped into a drift that was up to my knees and then another that was at mid-thigh...well, I wondered how to get back out gracefully. Ha!

Take care of yourself up there!

  11. Love Wendy in the snow pics...

two and a half feet here. It would be GREAT for a snowshoe today, but I'm pooped from all the shoveling!

  12. jennifer, the big faery with a bigger snowblower just visited...
deanna, i like to track other's drawings in the snow. my favorite was an owl kill, beautiful feather marks, and tiny drops of blood.
ronnie, it looks like that and even sometimes behaves like that, but today it tastes like light
valerie, i only shoveled a little bit (maybe 30 minutes) so i could still get a ski in...

  13. Wow, how'dya get away with 30 mins shoveling? I did almost 3. I wanted to be in the studio today, but now I'm wanting to hang out by the wood stove. Hope you have a good rest of weekend :)

  14. valerie, had a friend with a BIG snowblower coming, so only had to do one path to mailbox, the porch and stoop (several times) then dig out the garage door. ok, maybe a little bit longer, but not much. time flies outside in the snow!

  20. we've had ice storm and since i refuse to salt...bad for little paws - we've been sliding. even puppy's paws have been spreading out while walking. hope all goes safely...through the melt down. good time for stitches, long britches and a good read or weave. 2337 loabla

  24. yes, it's beautiful here, too, but we don't usually have the drastic change of seasons- especially the snow. pros and cons.

blandina, it's beautiful, and we're not used to these storms, but 20 years ago it was the norm. i love it.

  28. been amazing to see the blogs' pix from over your way - all that snow. Just doesn't happen in my bit of Devon. I'd love to try to walk knee deep in snow just once in my life and to see all those whites. looks cold, stay warm :)

  29. neki, shoveling arrived ad tea, and eventually hazelnut brownies!
annaB, yes, this was the kind of snow we're used to. haven't had much of this lately, i love love it. it's hard to walk in it, and when it's around your thighs and you fall, getting up is a lesson in geometry!
