looking into the recent past

an adirondack foothill walk on sunday
 cold but beautiful
 lovers or a book
maybe both
my sister and i remember this walk
which we've done many, many times
though not often together
water is high, but i've seen it higher
framing spring
over the fall line
big sound
crows and ravens talk high above
a little friend
out back
succulent new grass brings
out two
no, four yearlings.

But its darn COLD today! Love the silhouetted trees against the river - It looks so famliar, like one of my new paintings. I really love when I see my imaginary worlds captured in photograph by someone else, cool!!

  2. V- such experiences we have on our rambles. I love the stones - I think not is lovers or good friends stopping to share stories. B

  4. It must be challenging, to be where you are Velma, to have to see life as it is, raw. I confess, I'm entirely urban in comparison. But you are very strong, and so is your landscape.

  7. this is something Velma. What a walk.
Stunning and all the more so in how it reflects seasonal change. SO dramatic compared to what I am used to.
