stitching and school

a few stitches of silk and paper
 on paper
at home last night
i stitched 

paper thread and silk 
dyed
on wake robin papers
and our school year opening meeting
i spotted a kangaroo. a touch of oz 
in the north country
a good beginning
a little humor

  13. Your stitches are like tracks. I reckon it's beautiful to stitch paper, an insubstantial material. Really, that is what the old bookbinders did, when everything was done by hand.
    Today, with technology doing so much work, we are free to experiment like this, to be whimsical, and through our whimsicality, let a little more light into the world.

  14. yes, faisal, they do look track-like! i like that! funny, too, that working the paper, crumpling, etc, prepares and strengthens it for the stitching.
