when i brought her into my house, into my bedroom
15 years ago,
i felt her presence.
i grew to love her,
after i grew to fear her no more.
rosa rugosa i planted here
on linen
part of a bundle like this:
which has handmade
abaca, from some time ago,
when i did an edition of white paper
saved
for a rainy day
you can see
(well, maybe you can't see)
(well, maybe you can't see)
the ecoprints came out
very well,
from pastel to deep
purple, charcoal, and dots
of rose from staghorn sumac berries
gathered at the new place.
hunker down, all, and safety to you.
love the rosa rugosa on linen. stay safe.
ReplyDeletedeanna, schools here are closing early, at least that's what tonight's reports say. very strange.
ReplyDeleteShe scared you, that watcher???
ReplyDeleteThe University where I teach closed for tomorrow - second time in 18 years. I was dreading having to drive in the storm, not knowing if I would get back. Glad they closed. Are you guys in the Sandy zone??
valerie, yes, she has some strong juju. we have lots of early dismissals tomorrow, but all that means for me is that i have to go and deal with worried e.d. kids, NOT fun.
ReplyDeleteThe wind is just picking up down here in CT. Schools are closed Monday and Tuesday as are librarys, etc.
ReplyDeleteStay safe in your neck of the woods.
I can 'feel' her. To live with her for 16 years is something. I'm wondering if I would feel stronger, braver with her around? She sends those vibes.
ReplyDeleteTake care in the days ahead.
Interesting... cause that juju doesn't seem to translate in a photo- she's seems sort of inquisitive. Be curious how being in her actual presence would be different.
ReplyDeleteGosh, I think about the oddest things!
lots of family and dye news. stay safe.
ReplyDeletejennifer, no wind yet, here, schools closing early. you'll be seeing more of this one, i think
ReplyDeletenancy, she has kept an eye on me for a while
valerie, at first she wasn't, maybe the cold north country has mellowed her
neki, busy days, thanks
batten down the hatches, Velma. Be safe.
ReplyDeletepower could vanish anytime, it's windy and wild, but not crazy and no rain yet.
