rock book, done, almost

this idea is long in preparation, i think i told gin about it a couple of years ago.
there are five large ones, and several small ones. for the show in november at the arts council, i want to have these ready, if not completely completed. (done, done. finished, finished?)
this is a pretty big rock. i'm guessing 20 pounds. found here. pages of thoughts, colors, plants.

i have another story to share, but to do it justice i need a couple of nights' sleep. suffice it to say that i had yet another transforming experience, or perhaps better, a watershed. only paper. a papershed?

A vision becomes reality. I love it!

yes, kaite, all sourced here, but there is some abaca in some of the paper.

neki, yes, and the natural yellow spot on the inside covers thrills me.

oh, i wash my jeans with stones in the pockets all the time! no leaves, though, that would be book perfect.

fiona, it's the harsh weather, splits rocks, even people, right in half!!!

gin, welcome in every way, you are an inspiration.

A rock book, I really love your idea. Rock's are millions of years old, if we only could read their books, you've made it possible.

The rock book rocks!

ya know rock n' roll is here to stay.........

i was informed by "someone" that it is a rock sandwich. ha. food for thought! the two big ones will have loose leaves (leaves of grass) and the three smaller ones will be bound up. it's all a matter of turning leaves/pages.

Good grief, Velma, what a magnificent idea!
Will the pages remain blank or will something be written on them?

Velma said...

in answer to your question, you must read the book(s)!!

V - I think it is really cool that you find these split rocks a create books from them - mind you note really what you would call pocket books. Go well B
