number 600

this is my 600th post
omg as my students will write (once only)
over at the new place, down the road a piece.
 this is one of my new neighbors
 three
 isn't this one magnificent?
and i recently got this:
 a fine package
from asao shimura
who taught me japanese and pina papermaking
long ago
at carriage house
~~~
a day at bittersweet farm
sunshine cheeks
stretched muscles
dirt and bugs and worms
and happiness.
~~~
happy 600!
i am terribly long winded!

  7. magnificent horses, but such short tails - obviously no flies to swat up there.

  8. the tail-could be natural, could be rubbed off, could be a bit of appy in there and they often have short tails, or it could be trimmed for work. of none of the above!

  9. 600 posts.. my my - I appreciate that! At the rate I'm going, I'll be 80 by the time I hit the 600dreth post!

    Nothing like a strong horse strutting its stuff! And sunshine, stretched muscles, dirt and the rest. I was in the studio all day, but scheduling and working on the web site. Tomorrow I think I'll be getting back to some bookmaking I started.

  11. "Long winded"? I THINK NOT, rather the soul of brevity. May 600 turn 1000 in good time, and may your new neighbors bring horse wisdom and even mor inspiration to your dear self.

  12. What beautiful neighbours! They look like Clydesdales, one of our native draught horses (and ones I have a soft spot for, as I'm sure my Captain is half Clyde )

    Pina papermaking sounds intriguing, what is it?

    ReplyDelete
  21. blandina, pina is pineapple. asao has explored pina for paper for many years, and taught a pina workshop at carriage house that i took several years ago. he also explores pina shifu.
