hummingbird and duck

this morning
i was washing at the sink
and a huge brown bird flew past.
i saw a white head
out i went
and there it was
gwen was more than excited
went into bird dog mode
not exactly where
most of the birds she is familiar with
hang out
it then flew to
 the garage roof
causing the setters to go a little bit nuts
and then
to the barn roof
way up high
what was it up to?
don't quite know
but there it was
~~~
 noise in the garage
what is this?
chaos
 little hummer got stuck
didn't know that the bottom window
was wide open
i helped it out and away it flew
~~~

  7. Thats a muscovy and I don't blame it for being up high if the dogs were making that much noise. I would want to be up high to.

  10. lf, apparently a muscovy...but it's a little ways from it's home.
    nancy, it caused lots of smiles here
    india, interference with their turf (so to speak). here the lgb's and the lbb's were all alarmed. the duck wasn't.

  12. neki, i love it as a decoy... i think that on the barn roof it could be another weather vane.
    lynda, everyday is nature day here, though some are more, er, surprising than others!

  13. What wonderful bird images, great story in photos. Don't have a wonderful feeling of being connected when you have these sightings?

  14. maggie, it goes deeper and deeper, more profound each day even. the muscovy is a visitor from a little homestead down the hill from me. what got into it's head?
