in yesterday's mail
a book for hannah from kate and
this for me!
seriously amazing tiny stitching:
like fairy fingers
made this pouch
even the wrapping paper
is handmade
(will surely be spun up for shifu)
(will surely be spun up for shifu)
so this morning at 7
there was a bit of snow
as daylight emerged
it's apparent
that some serious
work with shovel and daughter
is necessary for an elder
border collie
to find her way through.
(and the postman to find the mailbox)
(and the postman to find the mailbox)
and it's still snowing.
hard.
Wowsa...same here in Bar Harbor.
ReplyDeleteGlad Hannah is there to assist my sis.
Claudia
i'll bet little ms anouk is happy!
ReplyDeleteNice to have shoveling help. Here, too... about 10+ so far, not too bad. But it doesn't seem to be slowing or changing to rain, which I think I'm glad about - the changing to rain thing I HATE. Though, I think I could be done now shoveling. Made all kinds of paths for Pasha, but he's snoozing in his cat cave.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!!
valerie, there is SO MUCH SNOW and it's snowing hard still. i've put out feelers for a plow person...fingers crossed. wendy isn't able to leap through anymore.
ReplyDeletei know hannah is working for it, but i am SO jealous of your snow!! we had a tiny bit last night and then the rain washed it all away. LOVE seeing wendy in the snow!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! You've really got snow. Hope you can locate a snow plow person to help out.
ReplyDeleteAnd those gifts! Is that Junko Oki's work I see?
aimee, well, we may want a little less in the driveway, but it's ok everywhere else.
ReplyDeletejennifer, snow oh, yeah! i am SO lucky to get one of junko's little pieces. (there is a hot link, but maybe it's invisible)
Oh, and, forgot to mention how much I LOVE that left stitched piece in the second photo. Is that white thread on gray paper, or?? Anyway, tree rings, spirals, etc. etc.
ReplyDeletebeautiful.
wow! SNOW. we are still green and mild. Hope that you find a plow person, that looks like more than Wendy and Hannah can handle. Did Hannah get Kate's book from Santa? is it super good? I'm envious of Junko's tiny stitches - a snowflake or spiderweb.
ReplyDeletelucky the puppy that gets to have the supervisory role...she looks seriously engaged with the falling of the snow and lucky the house that get to hold some of Junko's work...seriously in envy mode - big time admirer of her work. so break out the hot chocolate and ginger bread - winter is knocking of the door and asking permission for playing...enjoy.
ReplyDeletevalerie, the left piece is a photo in black and white of junko's work. of course you love it--there's a hot link to her, click on the work "this"
ReplyDeletejean, i can't quite believe it, but a good samaritan in a front end loader stopped and plowed us out (took pity on me) and asked for "oh 15 or 20 dollars", so i wrote him a check for 35.
henrietta, i'm lucky exponentially, hannah and wendy and warm home...all is well. the drive is clear, too, now. YAY!
I'm sure it must be a terrible pain (and worse) but I find stories about piles and piles of snow simply fantastical! its so hard for me to imagine.... like the surface of the moon.....
ReplyDeleteronnie, you feel about snow the way i do about kangaroos. i mean, they really DO exist (i saw a herd/flock/murder of them outside melbourne! all moving fast!) snow is lovely stuff, but it's serious business keeping your place "open".
ReplyDeleteSnow for someone like me who hasn't to keep the drive way clean, is just a magical occurrence.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know Junko Oki's work, how incredibly original, delicate yet full of passion.
blandina, the snow is so wonderful. tomorrow, maybe i'll get out my skis! junko does amazing work.
ReplyDeleteall's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteyes, this is the kind of winter we used to have
ReplyDeleteBlessing upon blessing layered here.
ReplyDeletem. indeed
ReplyDeleteOooo a little bag by Junko Oki...How wonderful is that?! Glad someone came by and cleared some snow for you.
ReplyDeleterobyn, lucky me in every way
