  1. Ouch... broken tooth, no fun. Life's vessel, yup, so full of different things.

  2. The craft involved in your making is so fine--even the old one--so, so fine. How I love looking at it. Oh, don't the days fly by...may tomorrow be swift and painless in the tooth department, may the healing finally take hold and banish the in and out of not quite free of it, and may your patience, which is monumental, hold you through the time till spring + may there be a few surprising and pleasueable events, people, things!

  6. "A useful sort of creature", Velma, isn't an entirely adequate definition of you who makes substance out of nothing much, sees beyond expected boundaries, and delivers to the world subtle delights.

  7. ronnie, the tooth will be fine, my dentist is a good guy, i just hate them breaking!
neki, i'll rest on your confidence in me!
faisal, ah, but this book is all about juxtaposition, and the text (from a 19th c children's book about animals) and the images (from a 19th c scottish book on midwifery) are pretty challenging.
