tonight i heard the first woodcock of the season. my first north country bird, that is, the first one i learned after moving here. now i know for sure that spring is here. i've seen many ducks in pairs, and the punky ice heaved onto the shore is almost melted along the grasse river. feeling better. thanks for all of the kind wishes.

This looked like my walk today....blue...clear... but a mite cold ... mostly moss greens...but if you stand and squint you can see greenish tinge to the branches. Spring is coming. Glad you are improving.
ReplyDeleteboy i could live in something like that.
ReplyDeleteme, too! i love boulders that appear to be just hanging out.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling better and heard your woodcock...I was going to ask if that is a moss covered outcropping, but you answered it for me already... What a beautiful site! Isn't is impressive that something as small and primitive (biologically speaking) as moss can envelope and (over the years) break down something as strong and seemingly permanent as huge boulders? Mother Nature is one marvelous being...
