it's still march, st patrick's day, and the weather is way too warm for today, but it's great fun to have a chunk of daylight after school. i looked for signs of spring here, but it's pretty dry and my little stream is only a trickle. mud season looks more like sand season.
just look at that sky!
Whilst I'm sitting here in very little, keeping the cool drinks up, and being so over the humidity of Queensland, I wallow in these beautiful images and descriptions of the northern winter/spring. Thankyou!
ReplyDeleteit was TOTALLY sand season at ft drum!!! i would have preferred more moisture except then i would have become a human mudflap when walking on the shoulders. it's sad to not be so close to you anymore! i guess ben and i were only temporary north country residents. but i look forward to going back in a year, hopefully!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos... It would be fun to go through that pile of stuff to see what's there... Love the one of the vines on the old building...
ReplyDeletesand--wendy's thick border collie coat is a sand sponge...after walking the spot(s) where she rests are little sand hills. the floor sounds like sandpaper.
ReplyDeletei've photographed the rusty things alot.
You should also wrap some fabric around the rusty things!
ReplyDeletei feel like i am a rusty thing these days. the sky was just like that here too.
