a grid
a map
a way to describe
a grid
a map
a way to describe
to pay attention
to the
experienced
a place
a home
a wilderness
vast, unknowable
somehow
that which we are puzzled by
land maps
booked in a map of pages and thoughts
tell someone
work maps
sewn together in
patchwork of
plant land soil mineral
materiality
place: here there where
to the
experienced
a place
a home
a wilderness
vast, unknowable
a way to be
in the landscape
to organize somehow
that which we are puzzled by
land maps
booked in a map of pages and thoughts
tell someone
work maps
sewn together in
patchwork of
plant land soil mineral
materiality
place: here there where
where?
ReplyDeletein you

of your heart eye hand mind.

jude also has an interesting post on her blog today - about home, dreaming and no internet...must be the cold bringing us in to the nurturing warmth of containment - home, dreams, touch of the materiality of objects that feel comforting in the hand...reconstruction of a past replaced by technology. i started reading something this morning that went something like - technology is the new media...maybe so but i still want to hold and feel my place. off to dream and think a bit too. xox
ReplyDeletem & h, i am so homebound this weekend, by weather, by nature, by choice. it's got me thinking, and mapping how i think.
ReplyDeleteMapping... I like that. And lines of light through old barn board - a different kind of map - time - mapping decay.
ReplyDeletebeautiful, thought provoking
ReplyDeletemapping

and where we've been
I will carry it all within
valerie, jean,
ReplyDeletetime mapping
place mapping
making a diagram of what we think we need
but we don't know
for sure
jean's right
carry it all,
all within
where are we?
ReplyDeleteanything that speaks of place speaks to me...
ReplyDeletejourneys, places, marks, traces - they're all there and maps help us find our place in the world. A lovely visual wander with you.
ReplyDeletewhere we've been and where to go from where we are.
ReplyDeleteYou are such an inspiration, Velma.
