play habu

playing with habu yarn on the stump
i had to put paper behind the warp to see it
it changes a bit with the lighting
but the paper and nylon thread is amazing
i love this furry little square
but didn't until i
added the piece of paper

love it, too and would love to feel it. It is an amazing yarn and the square shows it at it's best.

you are so smart! to add the paper! i am so happy that you are playing with the yarn and tackling its many challenges.

this is an amazing yarn--is it spun out of paper? in any case, I love the evanescent quality of your square that results from the twists of the yarn and the spaces in between warp and weft.

yes, it would be amazing to touch this little piece...it looks so strong and fragile all at once - almost like a bird's nest...those little weaver birds that make those amazingly huge nests. so beautiful. do you have a needle or an improved shuttle for this? now i'm going to just look for a few minutes

jean, so simple, this kind of weaving...and so rich
aimee, you know just how to entice me! and it was out of total frustration!
hannah, i thought you were another hannah! evanescent is a fine word for this paper (and nylon or silk, i forget) yarn.

Texture always shouts out to me and I am dying to feel this piece. As Henrietta commented it has a strong and fragile quality.
