it started with some icing
the news is the weather
always the weather in this place
we're so close to it.
i spent the night at a warm place,
leaving home at dusk with wendy
the roads bad,
it took twice as long to travel 25 miles.
i decided not to worry
heard this morning that
power returned to my place at 7 last night
ncpr singing out to an empty house
all through the frigid winds
my house chugged warmly
cracks me up
i was lucky this time
and thankful.
1998--i was out of this house
for 21 days
then trees rained down
with thunder and crashing
after 5 days of ice
then snow
this was only a storm
thankfully
