this is my 600th post
omg as my students will write (once only)
over at the new place, down the road a piece.
this is one of my new neighbors
three
isn't this one magnificent?
and i recently got this:
a fine package
from asao shimura
who taught me japanese and pina papermaking
long ago
at carriage house
~~~
a day at bittersweet farm
sunshine cheeks
stretched muscles
dirt and bugs and worms
and happiness.
~~~
happy 600!
i am terribly long winded!
magnificent indeed! I love a horse who won't notice I'm up there on it's back.
ReplyDeleteOh what beautiful neighbors, so sturdy and strong. Congratulations on 600...I enjoy hearing your reports and musings from the north country...thank you!
ReplyDeletehooray! so glad you are out in the world this way. and aren't asao packages the BEST?!
ReplyDeletehappy 600! (lurve the big new neighbours..... my sis in law has a big roan boyo just like these..... ahhhhhh if only I could have a pony ..... or heavy horse!)
ReplyDeletedeb, i want to be up there!
ReplyDeletesuzanna, thank you. long winded woman...
aimee, i love this one...i spun up a bit of it.
ronnie, i *might* get a chance to ride again--
not these guys, but a happy thoroughbred warmblood cross.
ReplyDeletemagnificent horses, but such short tails - obviously no flies to swat up there.
ReplyDeletethe tail-could be natural, could be rubbed off, could be a bit of appy in there and they often have short tails, or it could be trimmed for work. of none of the above!
ReplyDelete600 posts.. my my - I appreciate that! At the rate I'm going, I'll be 80 by the time I hit the 600dreth post!
ReplyDeleteNothing like a strong horse strutting its stuff! And sunshine, stretched muscles, dirt and the rest. I was in the studio all day, but scheduling and working on the web site. Tomorrow I think I'll be getting back to some bookmaking I started.
happy 600 indeed! i love a strong, glossy beast too.
ReplyDelete"Long winded"? I THINK NOT, rather the soul of brevity. May 600 turn 1000 in good time, and may your new neighbors bring horse wisdom and even mor inspiration to your dear self.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful neighbours! They look like Clydesdales, one of our native draught horses (and ones I have a soft spot for, as I'm sure my Captain is half Clyde )
ReplyDeleteomg i just have 945 and been blogging since 05!
ReplyDeletehandsome beasts. and lucky you more shimura.
valerie, i am so glad you had studio time...and i can't wait to hear aobut th ebooks!
ReplyDeletelf, these beasts are magestic
ms, well, thank you!
danielle, i haven't met the owner, but i think they're clydesdales, they have such perfect porportions.
neki, see, i said i was long winded! asao is amazing.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 600 posts...and on your handsome new neighbours. :-) Blessings for (at least) 600 more!
ReplyDeletemargaret, thanks for the vote of confidence!
ReplyDeleteVelma, you are not long-winded! Your horsies are beautiful - I would love to ride away with one...
ReplyDeletei, too, want to ride one of these big guys!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, 600 posts is a lot of work and committment.
ReplyDeletePina papermaking sounds intriguing, what is it?
blandina, pina is pineapple. asao has explored pina for paper for many years, and taught a pina workshop at carriage house that i took several years ago. he also explores pina shifu.
ReplyDelete600. that is a lot of giving.
ReplyDeletenice neighbors. :)
