it was hot yesterday
 very hot.
our walk was late
 after eight, actually
but the red winged blackbirds still
had alot to say
and i visited a nest box
i hadn't seen the giant ent striding
across the neighbor's meadow
but do notice the menacing presence
the night came on with good breezes
 soft color
 hot dog
doubled horizon

  1. velma, you're getting our heat from chicago! eeeks for almost a week. been sitting in front of my little fan trying to not step on my kittie rugs when i get up - cat just have that ability to not move when it's hot to cool themselves...my puppy has been walking early and late - she can't take the heat well. she gets a chilled towel and ice for a treat when we return. but it does make for a lovely glow - this stillness. nature has her ways...cheers and cool thoughts

  6. Exactly what I'm missing, Velma, the blurring heat, not this sharpening cold!
